Yes but I also changed my mind within the span of a couple of paragraphs, so there huff

But yes. Their next target is a Team Aqua grunt attempting to commandeer both ship and seagull, and laughing most insidiously as the pair of seemingly harmless children come into view. Furthermore, their Pokémon, it must be said, don’t quite have the same sense of ferocity about them as that Carvanha the grunt is using to keep the distraught old man at bay.

StormFlower’s already drawn and Magnolia’s staring determinedly at the Poochyena; Ren nods to Nora—he’ll be taking this one, thanks. A hostage situation requires more delicacy than a grenade launcher to the face, and Ren leaps into action, putting himself and his Pokémon between Mr. Briney and the Carvanha.

The villain sneers. His sissy little Pokémon isn’t going to be able to stand up to a mighty carnivore—plus there’s that whole type disadvantage issue thrown in. Ren knows; he certainly hasn’t had much opportunity to train his Ralts as of yet.

Still, he can afford to not be sporting in this case, by clambering onto the boat and immediately disabling the man with a few well-timed hits and kicks before Peeko is safely in Magnolia’s embrace and the man’s got his arm twisted behind his back, which Ren threatens to outright snap off if he doesn’t recall his Pokémon right now.
