Aoba ruffled Ren’s ears again, silently thanking him for going along with the introduction. Then he folded the flap over all the way, so that it was between his body and the bag itself as he slung it back to his hip, allowing Ren to continue peering out and observing things.
“He’s all Allmate, so he’s more than just some dog replica. He’s been with me forever, right, Ren?”

“Oi, Ren! You don’t need to put it like that!” Aoba cut in awkwardly, putting his hand briefly over Ren’s head to interrupt him. “You’d feel kind of lousy too if you only got fed junk food and energy drinks.”
