"Hm?" Declan hummed, looking up from where he was holding a battered paperback open with one hand, the other busy petting Ren tucked in the crook of his propped up leg. He had absently picked the Allmate up when he was nearby underfoot, spacing out entirely as he slowly made his way through East of Eden.

"And I'll be grateful for your thoughtfulness," he replied with a vague smirk, closing the book and setting it down to focus all of his attention on Aoba.

"I hope you don't mind. You were just...The bed was open, so I thought you should be there."
