The fight wasn't all that long, much to Reno's disappointment, but it was fortunate for Makishima. The birds went down first, even though Reno's focus was on the Elfadunk. It kept trying to spray him with some odd mist that he took great pains to dodge, but he did get hit once and instantly slowed after that. The birds got numerous hits in when the redhead turned sluggish and detached, his attempts half-hearted. Even at minimal effort the Turk decimated the opposition, the animals collapsing and ceasing to move.

With the fight over, Reno collapsed as well, folding in on himself and crouching on the ground with his head down between his knees, arms loosely wrapped around his legs. Dropping the stun baton beside himself, Reno closed his eyes and focused on ignoring the voices in his head whispering doubt and misery. The mist Elfadunks sprayed created a fog in a person's mind, dragging them down with a loss of will and nagging despair. It wasn't easy to ignore when one was already feeling less than enthusiastic about things. He already felt miserable, so it was hardly surprising that the Elfadunk mist had him hugging himself and rocking on his heels as he just forced himself to wait out the effects. Fortunately nothing lasted long, but that didn't make it any less risky.
