"Turtle? Turtles aren't a joke," Reno frowned slightly, not sure what else to say. They were also an unholy terror where he came from, if they were provoked. Being called a turtle wasn't nearly that much of an insult.

"I'm sorry you had to leave, but I'm kinda glad you did, y'know," the redhead laughed, shrugging helplessly. It felt a lot like laughing at a person that fell while you tried to give them a hand up. He wasn't sure it was a nice thing to say or not, even if it was genuine.

"And yo, the past is pretty important. It shapes us, yeah? Talking about the past gives a lot of context for how people behave and why. Besides, I like hearing you talk. You've got this little thing you do...." he wiggled the fingers of his free hand, vainly gesturing to indicate a manner of speech without really knowing how to describe it.
