"Ngh!" Makishima winced as his hair was tugged. He hated people tugging on his hair and the only thing that saved Reno from a slap to the face was that he was holding the coffee with that hand and doing so would have made him drop it.

It did work to get Makishima's attention and as Reno spoke he felt the annoyance and frustration drain out of him. He slumped a bit and focused on the balcony floor between their feet.

"I..." He let out a sigh and looked up at Reno again. His expression seemed shaken. "I told you I'm no good with people, sho."

His voice was quiet as he spoke, "I'm sorry. I overreacted."

Reno wasn't the only one worried about proving to be too much of a handful, but that didn't mean Makishima didn't want to try. Sure he'd seen some habits of Reno's that might prove to be annoying as hell, but the over arching feeling of attraction hadn't been beaten back either. The level of attention Reno gave him made Makishima happy. It was just enough without being too oppressive or smothering. It was a lot like someone he knew back home actually.
