"R...Really?" Reno asked, visibly shocked. He had been overwhelmed with disappointment a mere moment prior with Makishima leaving his lap, breaking the last of the contact that had fulfilled his small needs and fantasy, but the admission was enough to change his perspective entirely.

Had he completely missed the point and made too many negative assumptions? Perhaps. He knew he was already at fault for comparing Makishima to anyone from his past line-up. The teen was worlds apart (quite literally, in fact) from anyone Reno had ever dated before. Why was he assuming the boy would be anything like them?

"I do have to apologize," he grunted, pushing himself up to his feet and shaking his head with a smile that wasn't particularly happy. It was self-deprecating, if anything.

"I've made some judgment calls that weren't entirely my own to make. I've been looking at things from the perspective I've gotten over the years without fully considering that you're nothing like anyone I've ever known, yo, and I've been making assumptions based on the contrary. I'm gonna mess up a lot as this thing we've got goes on. I just...hope you'll gimme the chance to make up for it all. I'll probably need more than one or two chances to get it right. So I apologize in advance."
